Director:
When I took the position
as Director of Training for Cosmos Fitness, I saw an opportunity to
correct all of the negative aspects of personal training that I had
experienced while training for other gyms. Some of the things that I
had experienced were non certified trainers, non injury certified
trainers working with injury clients (which can be detrimental to their
rehabilitation), clients who were intentionally not taught a program so
as to be kept dependent on trainers. As well as clients who were simply
taught a routine (a daily set of exercises which are repeated from week
to week) so they would have to return to the trainer when they stopped
seeing results (generally 8 to 12 weeks).
I also witnessed
unprofessional trainers who spent more time talking about their lives
then working their clients hard, and MOST IMPORTANTLY clients who could
not remember even half of what they did with their trainer two weeks
after going on their own.
This is
unacceptable in our profession!!
Lets face it “a student is only as good as the teacher who teaches
him.”
